Kareri Lake is a high altitude freshwater lake (2934 meters) above the sea level, situated near Dharamshala in Kangra district.

The trek is 13kms long and has various routes. Dhauladhar range serves as the source of the Lake.

The lake can be seen frozen in the month of December – March. The best time to visit the place is September – October.

Situated in the lapse of Dhauladhar ranges, this place is considered one of the best moderate treks in Himachal Pradesh.

Day 1: Kareri to Rioti (7 km)

Arrival at Dharamshala today, take a taxi from Dharamshala to Kareri village directly.

Its a 26km (1 hour) drive from Dharamshala to Kareri village, after arrival meet and greet our representatives and guides, take some rest and get ready to trek to Rioti today,  which is just 7 km (4 – 5 hours) from Kareri village.

From Kareri village you can see the back of Triund/Indrahar Pass. The trek is moderate, you will cross the jungles and will walk with the flowing stream also known as Dhar.

After walking for 3 hours you will come across a boulder zone and after crossing that, a beautiful grassland with flowing stream.

Take lunch and enjoy a peaceful environment, after an 30 mins start walking again towards your final destination. The path would be a bit rocky and you will come across small waterfalls while ascending towards your destination (6 km).

One part of the side is covered by dense forests and the other is a rocky trail on which you are walking.

After arrival at Kareri Lake, you will see beautiful Dhauladhar ranges and Lake.

Today stay at this beautiful place, don’t forget to bonfire, take dinner and overnight stay in the tents under the billions of stars.

Day 2:  After breakfast back to Dharmshala.
