Enjoy the panoramic views of the Pir Panjal and Dauladhar ranges as you trek through alpine forests, oak groves and meadows. An annual pilgrimage spot for the locals, the sage Bhrigu is said to have meditated here.
4270m (Moderate, April – October)
Day 1: Drive 15 km on the Manali-Rohtang highway to the meadows of Gulaba where the trail starts. The trail climbs through dense forests of deodar and pine to cross a small stream and reach the camp site at Kothi Theli. (5 hrs)
Day 2: Steep ascent up to the lake. Cross a mountain ridge beyond which lies the Bhrigu lake. Reach the beautiful lake by the afternoon and set up camp on the shore. (5 hrs)
Day 3: Walk along meadows and enter a thick forest from where the downhill trek begins. The trail is rather steep and can be hard on the knees, but you’re awarded breathtaking views of the Beas Valley far below. Reach the Vashisht village and drive back to Manali. (6 hrs)
