Thank you HBA and especially Brighu for an absolutely wonderful and unforgettable 3 glorious weeks in Ladakh and Himachal. We had loads and loads of fun and lots of laughter. Brighu, special thanks to you for baby sitting, entertaining and looking after Arjun on those looong drives across the mountains. Looking forward to doing another trip with you soon. Love and best wishes always for continued success!

Back in home village of Naggar, safe and sound, after a remarkably profound expedition into the remote Himalaya with Leaders In Life clients. Leopards, bears, snow and sunshine. Good trekking and perfect leadership by Neeraj and Vrighu Raj Acharya. Clients delighted beyond belief and the forests have less rubbish than when we went there! Blessed and Content. Light and Love. Can’t thank you enough for a memorable vacation !  We reached safely last night and the kids and adults alike are talking non-stop about the fabulous time they had on this trip –  the Golden temple, the sparkling Beas river, the spectacular Kangra valley, the serene Krishna temple, the divine Jogini, Apple orchards, cheese and jilebis 🙂 and so many more wonderful and warm moments. The credit goes to you, your family and friends. Please pass on our gratitude to Surat bhai, Ranbir, Tripura, Anil Ji, Bobby, Surat’s uncle, the guide who helped mom at Jogini falls, Sonu, and more. You are amazing!

I think Vinita said it all.  Its a vacation we will never, ever forget.  The kids were missing “Bob” this morning and ready to come back to HP!  I think you bonded with each one of us (from the oldest to the youngest) in your own special way and we truly feel very connected with you and your family.  Hopefully this is just the beginning of a long friendship and many vacations together.

A 12 day adventure that ranged from sipping tea at the homes of artisans, buying wool, understanding weaving techniques and motifs to camping near a landslide, handling breathing issues, driving through non-existent roads and yet getting back home in a single piece. Adrenaline rush meets zen like peace and calm. A big thanks to Himalayan Brothers Adventure for making this possible.Highly recommended for any trip to Himachal. Vrighu is an excellent driver who knew the treacherous roads very well. His experience helped us get through without any hassle even while we were stranded on the way due to a landslide. I struggled initially due to altitude issues and his presence of mind with the oxygen supply helped immensely. If you are planning a trip to Himachal, you know who to call.

Despite the landslide (and a little bit maybe because of it) it was an amazing trip. A big thank you to Vrighu Raj Acharya of Himalayan Brothers Adventure for his great driving, making roads where there were none, great cooking (that was a surprise :-)), procuring all kinds of interesting and useful things, making good decisions and generally being upbeat and cheerful the whole time.  Folks, please go “Like” their FB page and if you’re planning a trip that side y’all know who to call.

Charm’g personality, infectious enthusiasm,a bagful of info &folktales—-that’s Brighu—–an ideal guide.!What’s more he has top-notch managerial skills—–motivated my grand-kids aged 6&8 to climb abt.200 ft. to see Sissu falls in lahaul, encouraged me a 65yr woman to trek 5km uphill to see Rumsu a heritage village &persuaded us to camp at almost sub-zero temp. near Chandratal lake! No problem is too large & his only reply is “main hoon na, no chinta”.Brighu thnx for the a memorable trip, God bless &keep ur spirits high. All the very best.

“This was my second trip in India, and equally amazing like last time. We were in the mountains and called Vrighu (who became a great friend after just a couple of hours of driving, very easygoing and professional). Once we contacted him everything was easy and perfect. He picked us up in Manali at 4 in the morning to get the best timing on the Rohtang Pass, which was the first of the four passes on this adventure. I drive a 4×4 in Spain and believe me when I tell you that I had never seen anything like that before…it was an unforgettable experience for me, and Vrighu, our SUPER driver, didn’t got nervous for even one moment… incredible! After that I was completely relaxed because superman was driving and the sun was up in the incredible blue sky. “

“Having explored the Himalayas for several years, I have travelled in different modes of transport and made friends around the mountains. But some of my favorite memories are of the road trips with Brighu to Kaza, Leh and Naggar. He’s an excellent driver, intimately familiar with the mountains, and a humble young man whose joy is contagious 🙂 Smooth travel, offbeat places, quirky stories, a sturdy set of wheels, plenty adventure and friendly vibes… the mountains are too much fun with the Himalayan Brothers.”

“On a bleak early morning in Spiti, we met Brighu at the jeep stand. His sales pitch was that he had a luxury vehicle. He sold himself short that day. He should have added enjoyable company, excellent driving skills, a deep understanding of the mountains and an immeasurable amount of good cheer and humility. I will always return to these brothers for any travels in Himachal.”

“We are zoologists and our aim was to look unique Himalaya animals which live far from human settlements. 12 days long trip, partly without any road, always far from hotels or other buildings, crossing the highest passes and sleeping in the high-altitude desert was fantastic and trouble-free. Raj is a highly professional driver, unpretentious man and good friend. He helped us in all our undertakings. I recommend you to choose Himalayan Brothers Adventures to explore western Himalaya region.”

“My girlfriend and I wanted to cross the Manali to Leh Highway in early May, right as the snow had been cleared from the passes. We were so lucky to find Raj and Himalayan Brothers Adventures, who had a comfortable jeep to brave to snowy conditions in style. Raj arranged some fine stops for us along the way, went by our schedule, knew of a great place with dinner to spend the night, and even indulged all of our photo stops, all while offering some great music and great conversation. I highly recommend you choose these guys for a jeep excursion or a trek, which they are also highly experienced in.”

There is much song, dance, drama and revelry all around.

Kullu Dussehra

A week-long festival celebrated in majestic style in northern India, Kullu Dussehra is one of the most popular events of Himachal Pradesh, signifying the victory of good over evil.  It draws the travelers from distant parts of the globe. It is held in the Dhalpur maidan at Kullu in Himachal Pradesh state. Kullu is known for its beautiful gorges, wondrous waterfalls, chatty mountain stream and ancient temples which are certainly going to enthrall you especially during the Kullu Dussehra festival.

Dating back to the 17th century, Kullu Dussehra starts on Vijaya Dashmi and lasts for seven days in the month of October. It is a lovely blend of rich culture, history and ritual. This festival is only held to celebrate the success of good over evil. While music and color create a peaceful ambience, thousands of people gather on the first day of celebration to pay respect to Lord Raghunathji. The first day is started with huge celebration and on this day the statue of Lord Raghunathji is installed on a beautifully designed chariot, which is graced with the presence of village gods and goddess, is pulled by ropes by the locals from its place to different sites across the Maidan.

The following days are celebrated with great devotion, and many an individual takes participate in singing and dancing during the festival. The fair is fulfilled with the burning of the Lanka. On the last day of the festival, the chariot is brought by the banks of Beas River where a mass of wood grass is burnt, signifying the burning of Lanka.
