Khirganga Trek

If there is just one trek that you have the time for, then this trek in the Parvati Valley is it. As much as we would wish to keep this place a secret, if we absolutely have to share it, then we would want to be your guides to this magical hot spring. Trek alongside the wild Parvati River, through wooded alpine forests and gushing waterfalls. A 6-7 hour trek takes you to the pristine hot springs on top surrounded by a ring of snow-capped mountains. After a hard day’s trek soak in the hot springs, camp at Kheerganga and return the next day.

Day 1: Manali to Tosh (drive  and camp at Tosh)
Day 2: Start trek at Tosh. Reach Kheerganga. 6-7 hrs. Camp at Kheerganga
Day 3: Come down to Tosh and drive back to Manali

3000m  (Easy, April – October)

Hamta Pass

Walk the traditional route between Kullu Valley and Lahaul/Spiti before the road over Rohtang Pass was built.
Day 1: Starting at Prini village near Manali, the trail crosses small villages of Hamta and Sethan before walking through an alpine forest to the campsite at Panduropa. (6 hrs)
Day 2: Walk through a thick forest and reach Chikka. Cross the bridge of Hamta stream and reach Chikka. Cross Hamta stream by bridge and after about a 2 hour walk arrive at the beautiful campsite of Jwara. (5/6 hrs)
Day 3: A gradual climb begins, to arrive at Bhalu ka gera (bears den), known for wild flowers, rocks and caves. Continue on to Hamta pass for fantastic views of Inderkila, Deo Tibba (6001m) and Indersan (6220m). Cross the pass, enter Lahaul valley and walk down to the campsite by the stream. (7 hrs)Day 4: Cross the stream near the camp and follow it right up until it joins Chandra River. Continue all along the river to reach the campsite at Chhatru. (6 hrs)
Day 5: Drive from Chhatru over Rohtang pass to Manali.

4227 m   (Easy/Moderate, May – October)

Beas Kund Trek

One of the most popular walks of the Manali area, this short trek takes you through beautiful forests and valleys to a glacial pond believed to be the source of the Beas River. An enjoyable trek for all age groups.

Day 1: Start at Solang and trek along the Beas for about 8 kms up to Dhundi. Camp here for the night with excellent views of the surrounding mountain peaks. (5/6 hrs)
Day 2: Continue up the next day to the beautiful glaciated lake of Beas Kund. Get close views of Hanuman Tibba, Friendship and other famous peaks of Manali. Come back to the Dhundi camp. (5/6 hrs)
Day 3: Head back to Solang.

3690m (Easy, April – October)

Solang – Dhundi – Beas Kund – Patalsu Mountain – Marhi – Rohtang

3970m (Moderate, May – October)

Jogini Falls – Manali

Start the hike from Manali or drive across the main bridge to Vashisht village. Walk uphill through the village and climb for about an hour to reach these cascading falls. Take a dip in the waterfall and enjoy the view all around. On the way back to Manali, relax for awhile in the mineral hot springs at Vashisht and return home warmed up to your bones!
